The Common Myna from India

There wasn’t much in India which remembered me of New Zealand, except the birdsongs and especially the Common Myna. I know mynas aren’t well-liked in NZ, as they are not native and grab other bird’s eggs. Nevertheless I like those little guys. They look pretty funny when they jump around in little gangs and seem to be very intelligent, similar to the European Magpie (which is also a thorn in many people’s side here).

Haha. First guy I met in India was from Invercargrill, New Zealand :-) He was pretty brave as he got his meal at a street kitchen. (I’d never dare.)
